Job Description

At IPS, you'll apply your knowledge, skills and passion to make a difference in the lives of people, supporting teams who are solving complex challenges related to life sciences. We're looking for a detailed Project Controller/Scheduler to join our highly collaborative team in delivery of these world-class projects.

As an experienced Project Controller/Scheduler, your focus will be developing, progressing, and forecasting all phases of the project schedule/plan. You'll be assigned to projects to provide planning leadership and integrate with engineering, procurement, cost, technical, and construction disciplines for seamless reporting, ensuring effective capital project delivery. You'll be working on various construction project sites located in North Carolina and potentially in other locations. Construction management staff are expected to travel to project assignments.

Responsibilities will include developing, monitoring, and updating plans and schedules encompassing the entire engineering, procurement, construction, and qualification (EPCQ) life cycle. You'll facilitate or participate in project scheduling meetings as well as Pull/Phase/Takt/Interactive planning sessions to develop, refine, and progress project plans. After evaluating schedule input from project partners including clients, internal teams, vendors, and contractors to verify schedule durations and integrity as well as evaluate logic and float paths, you'll integrate it into an overall master schedule. We'll rely on you to make recommendations to manage float and (re)sequence activities to achieve project milestones. You'll perform jobsite walks to verify physical progress of scheduled activities and review change orders for schedule impacts. Continual schedule progression and review will be necessary to ensure accurate data is incorporated and forecasted.

Collaboration is key, as you'll work with estimating and cost control to resource/cost load schedules and the overall team to support constructability and value engineering. You'll evaluate schedule risk and perform analysis (Monte Carlo Simulation, etc.), as required. You'll baseline schedules and document basis for approval. As you monitor schedule progress, deviations, and variances, you'll assess impacts to critical/near-critical path activities and recommend corrective action. Reports you create will relate to schedule progress, trending charts, schedule analysis, earned value, SPI, CPI, scope changes, etc. At project completion, you'll develop and record the project's historical schedule information and "lessons learned".

You'll motivate others on your team by communicating regularly, working together, celebrating successes, and ensuring project goals are met. You may provide supervision for more junior staff. Come join a nimble team that delivers world class designs for our pharmaceutical clients and continue to build upon your successful project controls career.
